What Makes Rocky Mountain Self Defense and Fitness Different?

The caliber of our instructors. Coach John is a 3rd degree black belt with the Krav Maga Alliance, and a certified Level 5 Krav Maga Instructor with Krav Maga Worldwide. John is also part of the Krav Maga Alliance’s Train the Trainer program. He’s one of a select few instructors who teach and certify other instructors.

I love this place so much that I am actually filling out a Google Review, my first Google Review ever. I joined 6 months ago in September 2015. I have learned so much in such a short time. I was most concerned that my previous ill health would affect my ability to accomplish my goals of learning the self defense, but I quickly learned that my teacher, Lisa Middleton, cared about my learning as well as my health. She shows me ways I can build myself into an exercise through time and not strain myself. Her patience with me and her celebrations with me when I accomplish something I have been trying to do is so wonderful.

The class is teaching me how to overcome a lot of my fears by the self defense taught (both physical and mental). It is very exciting to be a part of the team in learning; and I feel like I am part of a team of learning with the others in the class, not isolated to myself or alone because I am not as advanced yet. When I miss, it is obvious they missed me as much as I missed seeing them. They check up on you to see how you are doing. This is not a gym that wants your monthly payment and they will leave you alone otherwise, but they truly take the time to keep in contact with you and it has made me very happy.

Hands down the best trainers around! One on one instruction, and they really stress form for safety. I take crossfit and have for almost 5 years now. When I started, all of my movements were adjusted to my skill level which was a beginner. It’s been fun to look back and see how far I’ve come and how much I can do now!
